I’m Dee Patel, a documentary and community photographer based in Walsall. I’ve been working professionally for 14 years, photographing the people, places and projects that make up community life across the West Midlands and beyond.

My work covers documentary projects, heritage commissions, community arts events, environmental portraits, and organisational photography for charities, cultural institutions and businesses. I don’t do weddings. What I do is honest, patient documentary work — images that tell the truth about what was happening in the room.

I’ve worked on Arts Council England funded projects and Heritage Lottery commissions, producing imagery that serves both the organisations involved and the wider public record.
